Spudies® are Ireland’s first national mascots , 32 landmark-headed characters celebrating every county, our communities, and the places we call home.
Each bright yellow Spudie wears their county’s colours and a famous local landmark as their “antenna,” sharing stories that connect people to where they’re from. Alongside the Irish Spudies are international Spudies from cities around the globe, uniting to inspire:
Founded during lockdown by Jorart, the Spudies began as small sketches — doodles of cheerful, landmark-headed characters celebrating home and community.
Ireland has county flags, but no mascots to truly represent each place we call home. These unique characters proudly showcase their landmarks, with antennas “tuned” to the spirit of their place.
What started as a way to lift spirits has grown into a movement — one that defends truth, nurtures minds, cherishes Earth, and brings people together both online and offline.
